Easter Centerpiece: Upcycle Your Spring Prunings with Flair!
Hey there, DIYers! It's that time of year again - time to brighten up your home with an egg-ceptional Easter centerpiece. But why settle for the same old decorations when you can create a show-stopping, one-of-a-kind centerpiece using your very own spring pruning leftovers? That's right, we're going to turn those wispy branches into a fabulous work of art that will have everyone hopping with delight. We used Pinky Promise™ Snowberry and Bella Bellissima® Potentilla, but any whimsical pruning you have on hand will do the trick! Let's get cracking!
Supplies Needed
- One hammer (for nailing it!)
- A handful of nails (the more, the merrier)
- A log disk (the stage for your masterpiece)
- Scraps from your spring pruning (your lovely wispy branches)
- Some moss (for that extra touch of magic)
- A tea light (to light up your creation)
First things first, grab your trusty hammer and show those nails who's boss! Hammer the nails into the wood disc, forming a circle that's just the right size for your tea light to nestle in the middle. Space the nails about one inch apart to create a perfect playground for your twigs.
Now, it's time for the real fun to begin! Take your spring pruning leftovers and start weaving them through the nails. Your goal is to create a delightful nest-like appearance. Keep weaving until you've covered the nails and crafted a home for your candle.
Once your twiggy nest is complete, carefully place your tea light in the center and tuck the moss into the nooks and crannies of your nest, filling any gaps and adding a touch of whimsy to your centerpiece. The moss will not only look fabulous but also help to keep your candle in place.
And there you have it! You've just created the most egg-citing Easter centerpiece ever! Cue the oohs and aahs
Pro Tip: Multiply the Magic
Why stop at one when you can have a whole parade of centerpieces gracing your table? Make multiple nests of varying sizes to stretch along the length of the table for an even more impressive and magical effect. Go on, dazzle your guests.
